The problem
Deciding what to cook involves several separate jobs. Remember what is at home, choose meals, and work out what to buy. Fridgio brings those jobs into one application.
Photograph the fridge or pantry, review what the AI identifies, and keep a household inventory.
Plan meals around pantry ingredients, with recipes, household preferences, and room to swap or move a meal.
Turn planned meals into a grocery list grouped by aisle. Finish shopping to put purchased food back into the pantry.
Product & engineering
A photo can help capture a shelf of ingredients. People still need to check what was identified before it becomes part of the household's inventory.
Pantry items, recipes, planned meals, and grocery items belong to the same system. A shared household lets people coordinate the plan and shopping list.
The application uses a mobile interface with dedicated places for Pantry, Scan, Plan, Recipes, and List. The web app supports installation as a PWA.
A working product, developed over time
Fridgio is an ongoing personal product. The work spans the interface, household data, AI-assisted input, meal planning, and shopping. It is an example of connecting a real process in custom software.
